However, times change and so do we. I’ve reached a point in my life where I feel that I no longer have the same goals and visions for Handsome as Kristoffer does. I have therefore decided to leave Handsome Lifestyle behind me and let Kristoffer take what he started and develop in to exactly what he imagined, without me steering him in another direction. This is a move full of respect and I wish him all the best with the brand. I will continue to support Handsome, and I might even be brought in as a guest artist on a collabo or a bigger project if they need an extra helping hand. This is far from a complete end of my involvement in Handsome. I just won’t be working for the company anymore.

One of the most significant moments, in my opinion, is the arrival on the world stage of Renan Barao.
There was a lot of hype surrounding this guy, but he had never faced a guy of Picketts calibre. Against a hostle croud Barao delivered, and boy did he deliver!

This guy will be World Champion in 2012 – i’d put my house on it (if i had one)

Fan favourite – and one of my personal favorite fighters also came through. Thiago ‘Pitbull’ Alves defeated the newcomer and previously undefeated Swede Papy Abedi. Abedi aquited himself pretty well until he got clipped by Alves. Once his legs did the chicken dance, it was a forgon conclusion – Pitbull swarmed him with the verocity that has been absent since his 2009 title fight against GSP, softening him up with some viscous ground and pound before Abedi gave up his neck to gift Alves his first ever submission victory.

Facing the Pitbull in your UFC debut is a baptism of fire, but i think Abedi will do well in the UFC, just needs to cut his teeth on a few mid tier guys before challenging a top 5 welter weight. Swedens best chance of a UFC champ still lies with the Mauler Alex Gustafsson.

What are your thoughts?

Another great fight will be that one of one the top welterweights in the UFC for over five years, fan favorite Thiago Alves, takes on undefeated Swedish-Congolese Papy Abedi as he makes his UFC debut. If you’ve never heard of Papy before, you might be surprised that he agreed on going head to head with someone as vicious as “the pit bull” in his first UFC fight. However, I’ve been following Papy’s training diary and with a black belt in judo in his luggage and with a good striking background, this will be a fight to look forward to and we’ll be there to support him all the way (at least two of us haha).

So the first event on FOX better deliver the goods right?! Well, what better than a heavyweight title fight! Totally free on Network TV.

There is a certain aura and excitement about heavyweight champions compared to other champions. The aura is present in all combat sports – when people talk about the best ever, heavyweights always come into the picture. From past boxing greats like Ali and Tyson, through to the Pride veterans like Big Nog and Fedor, to the modern day champion Cain Velasquez. There is something special about heavyweights. Maybe its knowing that at any one time, one punch can change everything, maybe is the thrill at getting to see who is the Baddest Man on the Planet- who knows.

You are all probably familiar with Rick Genest by now, appearing in various fashions shows and music videos. Guess it shows how mainstream tattoos are becoming, even ones as crazy as this, that commercial brands are using them in their campaigns. Guess the taboo days are well and truly gone.

Whilst we’re on the subject, its only right to mention what is going to be the most highly anticipated heavy weight clash in recent times, possibly ever, thanks to Zuffa’s acquisition of Alistair ‘the Demolition Man’ Overeem.

Overeem is a K1 world champion. K1 is THE premier kick boxing competition. So we can say this guy is a legit striker, with power in both hands (not to mention his feet and knees) But his talents dont stop there. He ain’t a typical striker scared to go to the ground. In fact, he has more submission wins than KO wins (although some of them are submission due to punches) He has submitted Vitor Belfort who is a world class BJJ black belt, so he can hang with the best of them on the mat.
For the record he is also the Strikeforce heavy weight champion and Dream heavy weight champion. He ain’t called the Demolition Man for nothing.

His opponent – Brock Lesnar – needs no introduction (but i’ll give him one anyway) Where to start with this guy? He is a supremely gifted athlete. He is one of those guys – 265lbs of muscle but moves like a lightweight. The guy is a former NCAA wrestling champion. This is that real wrestling (not WWE) Winning the NCAA championships means you are the best wrestler in the USA. So we can say his ground game is legit. He is also the former UFC heavy weight champion.
Now if a guy is 265lbs of muscle and can move like a light weight, you know he’s gonna pack a punch. Don’t believe me? Just ask Heith Herring – the guy who Brock punched literally 15 foot across the cage.

Overeem has to be the most technically sound striker in the heavy weight division, probably the whole of MMA, and he ain’t no slouch on the ground but he hasn’t faced a wrestler of Brocks calibre. Can he cope with a power double from Brock? Will Brock get caught with a killer knee on the way in? Or get caught before he gets chance to shoot? Who knows. All we do know is that when one of these guys hits you, you stay hit. This ain’t going the distance folks.

The bad news is – this fight ain’t gonna happen til NYE. The good news – that means we get 2 months of watching videos like this and getting hyped!
